I interviewed my mom and my brother. Both said that they went to college, but they ended up dropping out. My mom went to college to be an English teacher, but when she became pregnant she had to drop out since family comes first. My mom is now an accountant at Link Engineering. My brother went to college to become a deisel mechanic, but he dropped out, because that isn't what he wanted to be. He currently works at Jimmy Johns. My mom enjoys her job while my brother isn't too fond of it. My brother is just happy he is being paid. My brother didn't put much thought into what he wanted to do, but my mom thought a lot about it.
ReplyDeleteFrom these interviews I have learned that before I go to college I think long an hard about what i want to do. If I don't then I will wind up with a job I never would of thought of working at.

ReplyDeleteI interviewed my Mom and Dad. Both my Mom and Dad didn't attend college. Out of high school my dad began on-the-job training towards his profession as an electrician. My Mom attended beauty school out of high school. She worked as a hairstylist for 12 years until she quit to take care of me and my 2 brothers full time. Now that my brothers and i are older she works as a seamstress. Both of my parents planned their careers exactly the way they wanted. My mom knew she would not hire a babysitter and planned accordingly.
ReplyDeleteThese interviews really helped me understand that it is important to have a detailed plan of how you want your life to go. You must plan for kids, Taxes, and retirement so when you get to them its an easy transition.

I interviewed both my mom and dad. My dad has been the CEO of his company Athete's Needs for 23 years and my mom is a teacher at MRE. My dad did not go to college, but my mom went for 6 years. Both my parnets are happy with their occupations now, and said they would not want to change what they do. Through this interview I learned that you must work hard for what you want. My dad put in many hours of his time to become as successful as he is today, and my mom went to school for a long time to be able to do what she loves. I also learned that you should choose a job that you really love and are willing to commit your life to.

I interviewed both my mom and dad. My father was a boiler operator for over 15 years. As soon as he had all of his time in he was able to retire at the age of 50. My dad didn't need to go to college so he was able to start his job with "on the job training". My Mother is an "OT" which means Occupational Therapist. She needed to go to college for 4 years to get her degree in teaching. Both of my parents are very happy with where they are with their job. They both have been very successful in their field. What I learned through this whole interview process is that you must have goals to get what you want. You must also have a plan to get you to where you want to go in life.

ReplyDeleteI interviewed my dad and my friend Heather. My dad works at Big Lots right now as an assistant manager and has worked in retail since after college, which required a 4 year degree. He gets paid hourly and works 45+ hours a week. He is generally happy with his job. My friend heather works at Pet Supplies Plus. She is still in High School, so her job just required on the job training. She used to work at Taco Bell so she said it was a little different working at a pet store, compared to fast food. She works about 18 hours a week and enjoys her job.
ReplyDeleteThese interviews made me realize how different one job can be from another, depending on education, pay, requirements, etc. It really helped me to understand what kind of job i want to go into. I plan on getting a temporary job with on the job training my senior year, like heather. Then after 4 years of college, go into journalism or any business related career. My dad enjoys when he makes a customer happy, and heather does not like when she has rude customers. I feel i would be the same way at my job.
