1. She shouldn't have been using her debit card to make all her purchases with. She should've been using a credit card. When it's you're credit card that is fraudulently used, you're reimbursed for nearly all the money stolen. With a debit card that's not always the case, especially if you didn't notice the theft for a while.
ReplyDelete2. Nowadays, there's too much information in too many different places. It's not that hard for someone to find your information and steal it.
3. A driver's license, credit car, debit card, application for anything, there's so many different things. It's honestly just anything that requires in depth information to be on it.
4. You should monitor your credit reports regularly. Don't give out your information over the phone. Don't carry too many credit cards, debit cards, or other information with personal information in your wallet.
5. I personally think it's the person stealing the identity. They're in the wrong. They're stealing. Yes, people should better protect their identity, but if people had never started to steal others' identities then protecting your information never would've became a problem.
The women could have been careless about using her card. Yes ID theft is common these days. People would have to obtain credit card information, address, social security number etc... Some ways to prevent identity theft is to check your bank statements often or whenever there is a problem, and change your card numbers every couple years. The person stealing it because they have to go through a lot of trouble to get the information.

1. She was using a debit card when she should’ve been using her credit card because the bank doesn’t always reimburse you when you use your debit card. She should not have used it for all her purchases.

3. Social security, birth certificate, ID card, driver’s license, or any other personal papers regarding address and phone number etc.
4. Always check the bank statements you receive, never give out credit card or card information to anyone, and be careful who you give your information out to. If anything unusual happens with your account, notify your bank immediately.
5. They are both to blame. Obviously the person stealing the identify is to blame for committing fraud, but also the women who was careless with her cards and account.

ReplyDelete2. The economy is bad and people are just losing their honesty and so many people are just wrapped around materialistic objects that they would find a way to get more.
3. Credit card, social security numbers, driver's license any personal information could gget your identity stolen.
4. Check your credit often. If any company ask for scoail security number be sure to ask why and make sure that they really need it. Mostly just be aware of this.

she was pretty careless about her cards. if she didnt use her dibit card all the time she could of got her money back. she made it too easy for people to get her information. ID theft is common because people put too much infor in too many places. they could use credit card numbers and social sercurity numbers. you can shred your important documents raher than just throwing them away. i think the people who dont protect themselve are to blame for identity theft.

1. The women was being to irresponsible with her credit/debit cards. Plus, she gave away part of her pin number over the phone, luckily it was really to a lady from the Bank of America.
ReplyDelete2. I believe ID theft is very common these days because its easier for someone to steal another's credit card information, than to steal money from a store or bank.
3. They could steal a credit card, account number, social security number or debit card and by using any of those things they could steal someone else's money.
4.Well, first don't carry all your credit cards and other information with you, unless you really have to. Secondly, don't give away any personal information over the phone or internet, unless you are certain you are on a secure site.
5. I believe that the person stealing the identity is to blame. Even though it may be really easy to steal someone's information it doesn't make it right to do so, even if it isn't protected well.

ReplyDelete2. I think it happens so much because there is so much information out there that people are careless with. People want this, and that, and the only way to get them is to pay with others money.

ReplyDelete2. ID theft is such a common thing these days, because some people don't think about how bad your life could become if your identity was stolen. They're not careful with their personal information, like they don't grab the receipt when they leave the bank ATM, which someone could easily steal and use their info.

4. Some advice I would recommend would be to be careful with what you do with your credit cards, debit cards, and protect your social security number.

3. For someone to commit identity theft they would need the person's social security number,credit card,and or account number.
4. To protect your identity from being stolen you should keep all of your personal information in a safe place.
5. I think that both the person stealing the identity and the person who's identity is being stolen should be to blame. It is wrong to steal someone's identity but you should have your information protected so that nobody can steal it in the first place.
