ReplyDeletethis has never happend to me before because i do not use my facebook that often and my friends do not take pictures very often. i dont think pictures in revealingcloths are appropriate for social networking sights. anything where you look crazy is bad.

I have not experienced any type of problem because I do not have a MySpace or face book I think that you should have appropriate photos that do not look bad

I have never faced these problems on facebook because I don't use facebook very often and not many people post pictures of me on theirs. Pictures appropriate for these type of website are any photos that you would show your grandma. In other words nothing with drug use sexual images and nothing suggesting violence.

ReplyDeleteI personally have never experienced this kind of problem on Facebook or MySpace because I do not post inappropriate photos on my profile and I do not get involved with activities that should not be posted or people that would post me doing inappropriate activities. I don’t have this problem because I have nothing to hide on my profile. However some people do. Pictures should only be posted that you wouldn’t mind parents or teachers to see because a lot of adults such as parents or teachers have facebooks to monitor their students and kids. So don’t post anything you can be blamed for, ashamed of, accused of or in trouble for.
ReplyDeleteBasically this article said that employers can check a person’s MySpace, Facebook or Twitter as a screening process for hiring. I approve of this procedure because if a person has pictures of him/her drinking, doing drugs, or any other irresponsible activity, they probably will not be a reliable employee for that job.

This kind of stuff has never happend to me this before. because the pictures of people and there faces are not bad but i can see like if they post nudity or drug use. but other then that i think it is not that bad.
ReplyDeleteNo, I have never experienced this type of problem because I make sure that all the pictures I am tagged in and have on my facebook and myspace are appropriate.I think that appropriate pictures would NOT include the use of drugs, alcohol and inappropriate clothing.
ReplyDelete35 percent of employers decided not to offer a job to a candidate based on the content uncovered on a social networking site.This could ruin a great job opportunity for you.Who knows it could be your dream job and if employers look at your Internet sites and find pictures that could get the company a bad reputation then they wont hire you.

ReplyDeleteI think the best way to prevent that is to not post unwanted pictures on Facebook and or don't take pictures you wouldn't want anyone else to see in the first place.
ReplyDeleteNo, I have never seen questionable pictures on facebook, of either my friends or me. I believe that any photos that suggest inappropriate behaviors should not be posted in the public eye. Photos that are acceptable to be posted on a social networking site should not include any drugs/alcohol use and should never portray any inappropriate or suggestive behaviors.
ReplyDeleteThe second article talks about the new ways employers use to decide who to hire...and who to leave behind. The employers look up a potential employees facebook profile to look at their pictures and wall to see who they REALLY are hiring. I think this is very smart because people aren't always as they seem on a first impression or interview and this is a good way to find out who they really are.
Yes, i have experienced photos of mine put up on my friends facebooks without my permission. I think the only photos that should be put up are your own photos, people shouldn't be able to put up pictures of others if they don't want them up.
ReplyDeleteIn the second article employers were going through and looking at peoples social networks looking for possible employers. i think this could be a good thing but for some it could be a bad thing.
I admit I'm surprised so many of you don't have a Facebook or Myspace account. Keep in mind, if you do sign up for one, be cautious on what you post and how you set-up your profile. Private is the safest but once photos are on the web there are always people who try to find ways around safeguards setup. Never post images you don't want parents or professionals to see - be appropriate.

ReplyDeleteI think its really dumb how that employers look at your facebook or myspace when deciding on hireing you. that shouldnt determine on how you get the job or not. it really isnt their buisiness to look at it and say yes or no on your personal life.

No, i have never had picture put up of me online before. I think you should only be allowed if they have permission from their friends.
ReplyDeletePart 2 Basically employers are looking at other peoples facebook deciding weather or no to hire them. They look to see if you talk about drugs or your old boss in a bad way. I think it can either be a good or bad thing. Good because we could trust our employees more. Bad because they would be judging you on your personal life not how you act at work.
I do not think that your employer should look at your facebook because I think that your personal and busneiss life should be kept seperate. What is on your facebook could be something about your personal life which could influence your employer and that should not be what determines wheather you get a job or not.

I dont think that employers should look at your facebook because that is yours to control. If you dont have enough self control to control it, then you have a problem. On the other hand i think they should because they need to know if your responsible enough to handle a job.

my second article is the employees. i think this right because people are not who they are on in front of there boss that they are going to work for. if they do this they know who the real information about this person
ReplyDeleteI dont take alot a pictures for face book i maybe have one or two on it at a time. This problem has never really occurred when i use it. i think any appropriate picture is ok for face book as long as no one messes with it
